What is Social & Entity? The Role of Entities in SEO and Are They Effective?

Hello SEO colleagues, many of you might already be familiar with concepts such as Entity là gì, Social là gì, and Profile là gì. However, not many understand it correctly or recognize its value in SEO. Do these elements help Seoer improve RANK (ranking) and TRUST (trustworthiness) of the website and keywords overall?

This article distills technical knowledge and insights from many of my personal website projects, observing changes in value after multiple Google Updates over the past year. This piece is dedicated to the community, aiming to give a proper perspective on creating Social Profiles or Blog 2.0. How to do it correctly? Does Entity trong seo có tác dụng gì really matter?

What is Social & Entity? The Role of Entities in SEO and Are They Effective?

Currently, I am providing Social services for many colleagues, over 50 projects already. Ideally, I shouldn’t be writing this since it’s related to a service I am offering. However, working with many colleagues, I see that many are doing it incorrectly, which makes adjustments quite tiring, and they do not understand the tác dụng của entity and social profiles. So, I want to share this to help everyone have a correct understanding, which can assist in building trust and enhancing SEO effectiveness.

Entity là gì ?

Recall the first time I encountered this new concept, I was overwhelmed and searched “entity là gì, business entity là gì, entity có tác dụng gì” to understand how it works. Before that, I wasn’t a professional SEO specialist but an individual SEO-ing my own business website, so it took considerable time to learn. The first mention was from GTV Seo. Thanks to Vietnam’s Việt-GTV Seo for inspiring many ideas through their videos despite not meeting in person or studying directly.

After many practices on my websites and studying various documents, I summarized some key points:

  • Entity involves identifying a website as a real individual or organization with reputation, specific identity, and unique enough to differentiate from others in the same topic.
  • Business Entity confirms whether a certain enterprise is a real organization or company that exists not only online but also in real life. Further details are below.

More about the definition of Entity can be found on Wikipedia.

Many concepts might confuse you, but don’t overcomplicate. Simplify and note the basics as outlined above.

Social Profile and Blog 2.0 là gì ?

Social Profile

In simple terms, Socia l encompasses social networks worldwide, including popular sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or any site where users interact or declare information, which can be called a Social Profile.

A Profile is a personal user account on social systems. Creating profiles serves to declare information about a person or organization.

Blog 2.0

Simply, when I first heard the WEB 2.0 concept or similar terms, I was overwhelmed. I prefer to call it Blog 2.0 as it feels more authentic.

Based on my understanding, Blog 2.0 is a blogging system designed on the platforms of well-known websites, aimed at creating personal or business blogs like a trading website or sharing content. The difference is that Blog 2.0 uses the existing domain of the platform website. Personal Blog 2.0 domains are usually subdomains, e.g., softbuzz99.blogspot.com or softbuzz99.weebly.com.

Popular platforms for Blog 2.0 include: Blogspot (Blogger), WordPress, Weebly, Eklablog, etc.

Attributes of Profile and Social Building

Having observed many projects, I realize that social profiles and Blog 2.0 possess some attributes and can be categorized as follows:

  1. High-quality selection: Clear information, capable of quick indexation, links to WMT, Ahrefs, should be used selectively.
  2. Indexed then dropped: Difficult to measure; some entries tracked in files but then lost indexation and removed from lists.
  3. Noindex activation: Many reputable sites in sector activate Noindex, rendering them ineffective for entity or link building. Avoid registering these.
  4. Weak, prone to die: Register once and quickly disappear, e.g., Vimeo.
  5. Receive Ahrefs data but not index/WMT: Some sites show links in Ahrefs but not in WMT, with no signs of Google indexation; mechanisms in other search engines like Bing or Yandex remain unverified. Monitoring ongoing.

It takes a lot of time to filter from numerous lists and a mountain of social links; currently, about 150-200 are potentially robust, meeting Brand, Link, Index, and health criteria.

How do beginners typically approach entity?

This probably applies to most SEO practitioners. Due to a lack of understanding of entity, profile, social, and their SEO roles, many methods and practices are misaligned with their true purpose. I was once like that too. No one is exempt; everyone starts from zero, gaining real experience to improve.

Initially, obsessed with social and entity, many jump into sharing huge lists like 300 social or 712 social from community sources, then spend days or even a month registering, often painfully and with little result regarding links or brand signals—inefficient efforts that waste time and money.

Later, relying on old websites, existing lists, or new projects, I filtered to find a better social/blog list that showed clearer results.

So, how many Social Profiles and Blog 2.0 should you have?

In my experience, starting from about 50 social networks, properly set up, is enough to build a brand and identify the entity for a website (indexing included). More is better, but quality and proper setup are crucial. Creating 300 or 712 entries without proper filtration often results in many useless links. It’s vital to ensure that each link is indexed; otherwise, it’s just arbitrary creation. Many still face this issue; I did for a long time.

Always remember, do you care about effectiveness or quantity?

What do you care about when making Profiles or Entities?

Most people, over 90%, focus only on how many links they get without truly defining the entity or the brand’s nature. Consequently, it only benefits link building, not brand recognition. That’s why many ignore parameters when creating profiles or entities.

As I stated earlier, the primary purpose of social and entity is to define the entity and declare website A as a reputable entity in a particular field. Links are an accompanying factor, enhancing the overall trust.

Effective Curating of Entities: To do this right, you must understand that the goal of Social and Entity is to declare and recognize the website as a credible entity within a specific sector.

Many don’t understand this, so creating social profiles often involves different users, different full names, and descriptions, fearing overlaps, which reflects a misunderstanding of social and entities.

This article aims to clarify these concepts. Think about how to prove that you are Company ABC, reputable and well-known in sector DCE, unique and capable.

Define consistent, comprehensive information about Company ABC across at least 50 social sites, including:

Full name:

First name:

Last name:

Bio: description — very important for topic recognition

Username:

Phone:

Address:

Gender:

Date of birth:

Website:

Email:

Logo:

Background:

Note:

  • Consistency is key — all info should match 100% to help define the topic; inconsistent info confuses Google about the entity. About 50 profiles are enough.
  • Link profiles with each other (linking); connect with major platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Flickr, Dribbble…
  • Address info should match the website and Google Map address for synchronization.

This step completes your website’s social setup. You can register manually from your own lists or those shared online, but be careful—avoid creating profiles indiscriminately. Focus on quality, test their impact on links and brand.

Building a proper profile list takes time: daily effort to select, register, verify, and categorize each social link for its particular purpose. You can try yourself but expect to spend a lot of time and effort testing.
